Wake up your body with this release-based practice. We’ll go through movement sequences that partner with momentum & gravity while researching ways to maintain efficiency in the body. Intermediate levels are recommended.

Kara Brody  is a movement based artist, teacher, arts administrator, and collaborator based in Chicago. She has performed with Lucky Plush Productions (2016-present), Khecari (2016-present), and The Cambrians (2016-2019). She has worked with artists Alice Klock, Erin Kilmurray, Ayako Kato, Kevin Iega Jeff, Shannon Alvis, Amanda Maraist, Danceable Projects | Erick Montes and Jodie Randolph Dance. Kara is currently working with Faye Driscoll (NYC) and is curating a series called work around with Steppenwolf 1700’s LookOut Series (2023).

Kara teaches  frequently throughout the Chicago area and has been on faculty at The Joffrey Academy, COMMON Conservatory, Dovetail Studios, and Visceral Dance Center. She has guest taught at University of Chicago, The Kennedy Center, Rutgers University, Sonoma State University, Hamilton College, Northern Illinois University, The Cambrians’ Winter & Summer intensive, Actors Gymnasium, Young Dancers Initiative, The Dance Place LTD., and Virtual Dance Lab. 

Kara is currently the Operations Manager with Lucky Plush Productions working alongside the Artistic Director, Julia Rhoads, on current and upcoming projects for the company.
